This plastering refurbishment project took place in a 1930’s house in Barnet, on the borders of North London and Hertfordshire.
Pegasus Plastering were contracted to plaster all the walls in a through-lounge that was being refurbished. The lounge itself is approximately 14 meters long and by 5 meters wide; so there were extensive spans of wall that needed to be covered. The plastering involved making-good and plastering over original plastered wall surfaces to create a new smooth wall surface. In this case our customers were intending to paint the walls, as people of often prefer to nowadays. When walls are going to be left bare and painted, we are able to provide a higher grade of finish to esnure that your walls are finished with an extremely smooth surface.
All of the walls in the through-lounge were prepared by applying scrim/fibre tape over any of the visible cracks. The walls were then painted with a coat of PVA adhesive, before they were plastered with two coats British Gypsum multi-finish plaster and trowelled to a smooth finish which when dry was ready for the decorating to begin.
Achieving the high grade of finish that we provide, not only makes light work for the decorators, but it also enhances the finished effect. If you cast an eye along a painted wall, you will updoubtedly find some imperfections, but we believe that you will be hard-pushed to find a better plaster finish and surface upon which to begin decorating.
