Plastering & Converting A Home Office/Studio

This plastering project was carried out in a large and spacious timber built garden workshop in Enfield, North London. The owner, who is a professional photographer, needed a home studio space and so decided to erect and convert a wooden workshop into a contemporary home office and photographic studio space.

In order to achieve this the outbuilding firstly had to be lined with insulation and fitted with all of the electric wiring and sockets, before the plasterboard and finished surfaces could be applied. We began by applying studwork to the timber frame of the structure in order to support the plaster board. The walls and ceiling were then covered over with insulation and plasterboard. We carefully cut and fitted the plasterboard to both the walls and ceilings ensuring that it formed a level and smooth fitting. Once this was completed. it was then covered with a top coat of British gypsum multi-finish plaster in order to achieve a high quality and smooth surface finish. At this point our work was complete and the studio was ready for decoration.

Plasterboarding a Shed

Given the unusual structure and intended usage of the building as a studio and office space it was essential that the plastering works were completed to an exacting standard that reflected the high quality of his work and was suitable for clients to visit. As you can see, one the interior was painted, the studio really took shape and provided a great home office/studio environment to work from.
