This was a plastering project in Enfield, North London in which we repaired and plastered the walls of a small bathroom.
The original wall tiles in the bathroom had been fitted from the floor to half way up all of the walls. Before we arrived on site the refurbishments had begun and the wall tiles had been hacked off of the walls. This had caused damage to the surface of the walls and in some patches the plaster had fallen away completely. Further to that the electrician had been on site to deal with the wiring and there were now new electrical cables that had been run and chased into the walls; so as to enable them to be concealed when the plastering had been completed, leaving a neat clean line to the wall.
To prepare the wall surfaces we first sealed them all with PVA adhesive. We then repaired the chases and areas where base coat plaster had come away with a base coat render. Next the bottom of the walls where tiles had been removed needed a thin coat of bonding (base coat plaster) to straighten them and to create a flush base surface to apply the top coats of plaster Finally, all the walls were plastered with two coats of multi-finish plaster to give a smooth finished surface which was ready for tiling, painting and decorating.
